1. Data controller
The data controller is Rental Messinese S.r.l., registered office at Via San Mauro 38, 35036 Montegrotto Terme (PD), Italy, VAT no. 05681790282. Email: rentalmessinese@gmail.com — info@kmrental.it. This policy covers data collected through the website www.kmrental.it.
2. What data we collect
We only collect the data you provide voluntarily:
- Booking data ("Book Online" form): first name, last name, email, mobile number, pick-up and return dates and times, selected vehicles and accessories, any notes.
- Contact data: when you write to us by email, WhatsApp or call us, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, contact details, message content).
- Minimal technical browsing data (e.g. hosting provider server logs), needed for the site to work and stay secure.
We do not request or process special categories of data (e.g. health, opinions, etc.) and we carry out no profiling.
3. Why we process it (purposes and legal basis)
- To handle your booking requests and enquiries — pre-contractual measures and performance of the contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).
- To comply with legal obligations, in particular tax and accounting — legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c GDPR).
- To load non-essential third-party content (Google Map) — your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), given via the cookie banner.
4. Who we share data with
Data is processed by authorised staff and may be shared with providers acting as data processors, including:
- EmailJS — the service that sends the emails generated by the booking form (privacy policy).
- Google — Gmail to receive emails and Google Maps for the map on the Contact page (privacy policy).
- Hosting providers, consultants and parties to whom disclosure is required by law.
5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some providers (e.g. EmailJS, Google) may process data outside the EEA. In such cases the transfer is based on adequate safeguards under the GDPR (e.g. the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. How long we keep data
Booking and contractual data is kept for the duration of the relationship and, afterwards, for the ordinary limitation period of 10 years. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle them. Data processed on the basis of consent is kept until consent is withdrawn.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses no profiling cookies and no analytics tools. We use:

The Google map loads only after your consent via the banner. You can reject at any time from the banner: the map then stays disabled and shows a button to enable it manually. To change or withdraw your choice, clear the site data from your browser (in particular the km_cookie_consent entry): the banner will reappear on your next visit.
8. Your rights
You may exercise at any time the rights under Articles 15-22 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it).
